The Beauty of Winter Photography

I think a lot of people shy away from portrait photography in the winter because they think that beauty is green grass and big smiles.  I beg to differ…

The difference in the light of a winter setting sun make for an almost platinum skin tone in black and white.  Gorgeous!

Personal Fine Art Project

I have been working on a personal fine art project, and with Christmas finally over, I have a chance to pull out some files.  The vision for the final project is a collage of separate photos or series of photos or techniques, mounted on canvas… a true melding of text and images and paint and textures.  This is one element I did last year that I had forgotten about…

It is just crazy that Bayla has grown and matured so much in just the past year.  This looks like a girl, and Bayla now looks like a young lady.  I would have thought that it’s just that she is in middle school, and not wearing uniforms anymore.  (It does look so much more mature when she leaves the house in real clothes each morning.)  But even her face has changed.

I guess this fine art project changing into a forum for the passage of time for my family.  Let’s hope it’s not the changing of decades again before it is finished!
